Many of you are familiar with on of our show’s top seminar speakers already, whether you have read his weekly syndicated column in one of eight regional newspapers, heard his radio shows, watched him on TV, or seen him in one of the publications he co-owns, West Tennessee Outdoors Magazine.
In the past four years he has won more Excellence in Crafts awards than any other outdoor communicator in the state. Last year, he was presented with the prestigious Conservation Communicator of the Year award from the Tennessee Conservation League.
But Rob's main passion in life is getting kids involved in the positive outdoor lifestyle and steering them along the right paths in life. His ON-TARGET program is the only pro-hunting assembly program allowed in the Tennessee Public school system. Rob and his friends travel to elementary schools, teaching kids about safety and ethics in the outdoors. Along with this, he talks to the kids about negative peer pressure, the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse, respecting others, continuing their education, and talking about problems with their parents.
Ten years ago, he formed the West Tennessee Youth Outdoor Jamboree. This one day even, saw 62 kids attend in its inaugural year. The past two years, over 2,400 kids flooded the small town of Kenton Tennessee to participate in what is now the largest, free outdoor event for kids in the world.
Although Rob enjoys all facets of hunting and fishing, his field of expertise is deer hunting. With over 200 deer harvested, he has studied and researched all aspects of quality deer management, food plots, genetics, habits and patterns, and successfully harvesting trophy deer.
His seminars this week will involve scouting, patterning and "Harvesting the Trophy Buck of Your Dreams". He will also be doing seminars on "Quail Hunting - a Southern Tradition".
